What have I been up to lately? (+Giveaway)

Well that's a very good question. Sometimes it feels like everything, then others like nothing at all. I'm sure some of you have noticed I haven't really posted much of anything aside from standard promo posts for blog tours, and for that I apologize. Between a new position at work and extracurricular activities, it seems to be all I have time for anymore.

So...just because I have nerdish tendencies and get easily excited...I did this.

And this...

I'm just saying, I wouldn't be sad if I knew that first guy in real life. Against my better judgment and social etiquette, I just might pet him.

So yeah, that's what I've been doing lately. These two short stories will release in 2015 under a new line with Decadent Publishing. Hey, feel free to come join some of the great authors already involved. :)

I've also made things...like a website for one. And a banner.

And a teaser....

Yeah, if you haven't figured it out yet, it's the small things that keep me amused. While they're small accomplishments, I'm rather tickled by them. :)

In the meantime, I'm working on revising a Scottish Historical and working on two paranormal romances, one of which is a M/M. I'm not entirely sure why I'm jumping subgenres, but it seems to work for me. So hey, whatever works, right?

Well since I've done that bit of shameless promotion, and also given a short explanation of why I haven't been too active on the blog lately, how about a giveaway for old time's sake. I haven't done one in ages it seems. Sadly, I even missed my blog's two year anniversary this year which was back in April. *Sigh* I know, I know. Just horrible.

Right, so I'm offering (1) $10 Amazon gift card, (2) $5.00 Amazon gift card, and a few random romance books I have laying around. So four winners. Just enter the rafflecopter to win. And if you're up to it, comment and let me know what you've been up to lately. Read any great books? What's your favorite subgenre of romance? Something great happen to you this year? You tell me. :)

    3. You know I picked up a couple of that same series. I just haven't read them yet. Ha, if you could see my shelves and all the books I haven't read, you might laugh.

That's pretty cool you're knitting and crocheting. I've always wanted to try, but I don't think I have the patience for it. LOL

Thank you very much for the kind wishes. You rock, Miki!

  6. I've read so many great books! I'm reading Stone Cold Lover by Christine Warren right now and it's very good; Burning Desire by Donna Grant was fabulous (I love her Scottish dragons!); and a Highland Wolf Christmas by Terry Spear was an very enjoyable visit with her Scottish wolves.

  8. Hi, Melissa! :) Congrats on your future releases!
LOVE those covers!! The snippet too!
What have I been up to lately? Hmm....lots of things. My 4 year old started playing T-ball and they needed my hubby to coach. So, it is a 3 time a week family ordeal and lots of fun.
I started watching my husband's great niece, who is only a month old. She is adorable and it's nice to have a baby around. It's only for 2 weeks, so I will enjoy it while I can.
Sadly, I have not been reading as much as I would like to, but I think that is partially due to the last few books that I read and them not holding my attention. It takes me longer to read them.
My favorite sub-genre is PNR, so these are right up my alley! ;D
Have a great week and thank you for the giveaway.

    1. Hurray! Thanks, Tina. I appreciate it. :) Good Lord, you've been busy this summer. That's great you and your family are spending time together. Definitely have to savor it while you can. Kids grow up so fast. Ha, yeah I don't know about taking care of a baby. I think I just like them when they're other people's and I can give them back pretty soon. LOL :) Yep, I love PNR also. I suppose that's why I chose that particular subgenre. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a wonderful week also. :)

  9. I LOVE your covers and a huge congratulations on your upcoming books! SQUEE!!!! Can't tell I'm excited, can you?

I've been trying to wrap my head around writing, the muse seems to come and go. Right now, it's clanking around in my head. Just hope it stays a while. :)

My favorite genre to read is paranormal, but I'm not too picky. Put it in front of me and I'll read. Your books look particularly interesting!

As far as great things to happen, the hub's business is kicking ass (finally) and last July the 2nd book in my fantasy romance series won First Honorable Mention at the Reward Of Novel Excellence awards in Las Vegas. That was pretty cool. LOL

Can't wait to see your name in lights, Melissa!!
