A Hero's Blog Hop

So.. Heroes, eh? Now who doesn't like those. Not sure about you guys, but I think one of the main reasons I read the romance genre is for the heroes. I love nothing more than reaching the end of a book, and the hero has found his love and happily ever after. *Le Sigh*

I would be hard-pressed to pick a favorite hero from all the books I've read. Though, I can name a few:

Gabriel McBain from Julie Garwood's Saving Grace
Patrick McLeod from Lynn Kurland's A Garden in the Rain
Ian Mackenzie from Jennifer Ashley's The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie
(In case you're sensing a pattern, yes, I do like the Highlanders.)
Garrett Kelly from Maya Banks' Hidden Away
Andreas Merrick from Anne Mallory's In Total Surrender
Grant Morgan from Lisa Kleypas' Someone to watch over me

I could go on forever, I think.

Right, here's the deal. I'd love to hear a bit about your favorite fictional romance hero. So leave me a comment telling me your favorite(s) and be sure to comment with your email address to be entered to win a $10 Amazon gift card on my blog.

Your email is vital because not only will you be entered to win a $10 Amazon gift card here, but you will also be entered to win the grand prizes offered as part of the Hero's Blog Hop. The hop will be going on from July 27th through July 31st.

  2. Oh wow, I remember Gabriel MacBain and Grant Morgan -- wonderful heroes.

I also loved Brodick from Julie Garwood's Ransom.

I recently read Elizabeth Hoyt's Thief of Shadows and Winter Makepeace is an interesting hero. He's a masked vigilante by night and reminded me so much of Batman -- and the author has really built up a mythos around his masked persona (The Ghost of St. Giles) --

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

If I had to pick one it would be Alec Kincaid from
The Bride by Julie Garwood. He's self-confident and sexy.

  28. You just have to love a man who holds his woman tight in one hand and a huge sword in the other. I'm a huge fan of romance, but my favorite hero is from a romance/music manga called Nana. The hero (closer to villian) Takumi sets his sights on Nana and will stop at nothing to have her. Sigh and he is gorgous.

  30. Fictional hero? Duncan McLeod from the Highlander TV series.

He's sexy, has a troubled soul, fierce protective streak, good heart, and killer moves. He's willing to sacrifice anything to keep his lady love safe. Who could ask for anything more in a hero? He's even immortal. XD

    Enjoy the hop.

I love vampires too... But I like them well tortured... Like JR Ward's are.

  32. In romance tend to lean towards Alpha males (usually highlanders, law enforcement or military)and total badasses except it comes to their loves. Gabriel McBain is definitely a favorite of mine as well (OK I admit I've been pretty much in love with him since I read Saving Grace in high school). My favorite non romance hero is Harry Dresden from the Dresden files. Gotta love a Snarky underdog who just doesn't believe in not trying with everything you have.

My favorite fictional hero is my own, Heath. (Because he'll stone me to death if I name anyone else. Seriously, living with this guy in my head is quite the experience! LOL)
He isn't actually fully aware yet that he is going to be a hero, but that won't stop him from shoving his way into the spotlight! The funny thing about this is that when he actually does something heroic, like saving a bunch of orphans from a flood or beating the daylights out of an abusive bastard, he doesn't brag about it. He'd much sooner talk about his sexual conquests, his chess match wins, or his sexual conquests. (He's with twins right now, thus the double mention. My poor brain. LOL) But in the end he will prove that he is a great hero. Then again, maybe he'll be the ultimate villain. I'd hate to rule anyone out just yet, as readers will have a long journey ahead before that answer sneaks out! ;)

  77. One of my favorite heros is Harry Potter. Given his traumatic abusive childhood, he never became jaded or even tainted. He learned to us love and the faith in light will always overcome darkness

  78. It have so many... but I'll try and reign it in and pick just a few... Harry Potter is great, Harry Dresden (from The Dresden Files)- snarky wizard that rolls with the punches and keeps on putting on foot in front of the other. And he's almost more of an 'anti-hero' but I just adore Bones from the Night Huntress series. And Vlad, too. Yummy and amusing!
